What I ate?: Doughnut with vanilla cream filling
Price: SGD 3.80
Category: 100% would eat again. Actually, it’s something I could eat every week.
Review:
The doughnut pastry was delighfully light.
Sugar was dusted so gently on the top of the doughnut that it formed a thin glaze on the tip of your tongue as you bit into it.
It was not like one of those doughnuts which have so much sugar dumped on the top of it that the sugar becomes encrusted behind your front teeth when you eat it (I will name no names).
The vanilla cream in the doughnut was slightly chilled and tasted like ice cream.
As I ate, I took a bite of the doughnut then licked the cream. It felt like ice cream on a baked pastry but also a baked pastry with ice cream inside. A very versatile dessert indeed.
A great, slightly indulgent treat you could have on a quiet weekend afternoon when the sun is bright but you have nothing urgent to do and you are stretching out on your sofa contemplating the meaning of life.
